Jordan Tenenbaum

Jordan Tenenbaum, J.D., M.P.H. Co-Founder and Partner, provides expertise in policy development, appropriations strategy and advocacy. Jordan thrives when he is solving complex problems that require creative policy initiatives for bipartisan stakeholders. Jordan has helped clients develop and implement advocacy strategies to secure federal funding from numerous agencies, advance legislation on challenging issues, and build longstanding relationships with key decision-makers.

Prior to co-founding SL Strategies, Jordan served at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as the agency’s appropriations liaison to Congress, and as a strategic advisor within the Office of Appropriations. Through this unique role he worked directly with agency leaders on appropriations issues, initiatives, and outreach for the agency while fostering strong relationships in Congress.

In 2012 Jordan was sent on detail to the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Labor Health and Human Services and Education to work as part of the Professional Committee Staff. Jordan worked on a bipartisan basis with committee members and staff on a wide range of health care and public health issues the HHS portfolio. 

Prior to joining CDC, Jordan worked at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research performing research on non-convulsive seizures associated with chemical nerve agent exposure. While Jordan ultimately did not pursue a career in laboratory science, the fundamentals of his laboratory science background often assist in bridging the gap between the science and policy worlds, by distilling complex science into simple meaningful parts.

Jordan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University, and a J.D./M.P.H. from Emory’s School of Law and Rollins School of Public Health.
